- How to install the Windows Home Server 2011 connector software By David Hartsock / August 17, 2011 November 12, 2015 / 3 Comments / 64-bit, How-To, WHS 2011 In the past few issues I’ve covered basic considerations you should plan for before installing Windows Home Server 2011 and the actual installation of WHS 2011.
- So Windows Home Server 2011 is out, but it is missing a major component that I really liked about WHS (and what made WHS unique) – Drive Extender. Basically, in WHS v1, you could add a drive to your machine, and WHS would add it automatically to its “storage pool”. From there, my files would get distributed and duplicated across the new.
- Today we take a look at how to install the WHS Connector software so can control the server and its functions. By installing WHS Connector software on the other Windows PCs on your network, it allows you to connect to WHS, backup your computer(s) nightly, monitor PC health, Setup User Accounts, and remotely administer the server.
